Jon Moxley To Defend AEW World Championship At Full Gear

Jon Moxley with the AEW World Title

The special Tuesday night edition of AEW Dynamite came to a shocking and unfortunate after Adam Page suffered an injury in the main event against Jon Moxley.

The injury came with almost ten minutes of the show remaining and in the midst of a stunningly hard-fought AEW World Championship match. Moxley had been bleeding heavily from before the opening bell even sounded and that set the tone for the entire contest.

As the two men brawled Moxley launched himself at Page hitting a thunderous King Kong Lariat which spun the challenger inside out. As Moxley collected himself the referee and doctor quickly checked on Page and immediately ended the match.

With Hangman Adam Page being tended to by medics and stretchered from ringside a number of promo packages for Rampage were played, with no footage of the ring or replays being shown. With Page on his way to the back Moxley wished him well before calling out MJF.

Jon Moxley Vs. MJF Set For AEW Full Gear

MJF and William Regal has engaged in a fiery promo exchange early in the night as MJF accused the veteran of turning his back on him as he tried to get a job with WWE. For his part Regal stated that he wanted to push the star forward and told him that while he’s a big star he had cut corners.

This theme played into the end of the show as Moxley challenged MJF. Friedman came to the ring and initially looked set to wrestle before grabbing a microphone. MJF said that he wants to face Moxley when he’s 100% and there’s no excuses, commenting that for the first time in his life he’s going to earn it.

All of this saw MJF challenge Moxley to a match at Full Gear. MJF has been teasing a match with the champion since winning the Casino Ladder Match to become number one contender at All Out.
