It was AEW Dynamite Christian Cage-Adam Copeland for the TNT Title, plus Continental Classic matches and more.

This episode took place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for AEW’s debut in that city. The announcers were Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz.

Match #1: Jon Moxley defeated Rush by submission in a Continental Classic Gold League match. Moxley hit Death Rider, Rush kicked out and Moxley applied the Bulldog Choke for the submission win.

Roderick Strong and The Kingdom were interviewed by Renee Paquette on the stage. Strong finally got rid of the wheelchair that he didn’t need to begin with. Strong said that the wheelchair held him back for far too long.

There was a backstage interaction with AEW World Champion MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page, who was back after a few weeks off. Page said he’s not done with Swerve Strickland. MJF mocked Page for some of the matches they had in the past. Page said that he went on to be a World Champion and MJF bragged about being a year-long AEW World Champion. MJF accused Page of being The Devil while Page denied it and said maybe MJF is The Devil. Samoa Joe walked in to break it up and told MJF they had other things to do.

Match #2: Swerve Strickland defeated Mark Briscoe by pinfall in a Continental Classic Gold League match. Swerve won with a Swerve Stomp.

Samoa Joe entered for his tag team match with MJF. The lights went out and four masked men were surrounding Joe. The lights went back on and the guys left. The Devil was shown on the screen and MJF was shown laid out on the cement backstage. There was a broken beer bottle. Joe went running to the back.

Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland had a brief exchange of words backstage talking about how they were both 3-0 in the Continental Classic. They will face each other next week on Dynamite.

Match #3: “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Skye Blue to retain the AEW Women’s Title. Storm won with a sunset flip when they were exchanging pin attempts.

After the match, Riho confronted Storm in the ring and knocked Storm out of the ring. It looks like Riho is coming for the AEW Women’s Title.

Match #4: Jay White defeated Jay Lethal by pinfall in a Continental Classic Gold League match. White countered a pin attempt by Lethal and hooked the leg while sitting on top of Lethal for the win.

Match #5:Christian Cage defeated Adam Copeland by pinfall to retain the TNT Title. The referee was bumped and Christian also kicked the referee with a blatant low blow. Shayna Wayne went down to the ring, grabbed the TNT Title and she hit Copeland with the title to the head. Christian hit the Killswitch on Copeland. Christian stomped on Copeland’s neck while Copeland’s head was on the TNT Title. Referee Bryce Remsburg woke up to count the pinfall win for Christian Cage.

Christian celebrated with the TNT Title over Adam Copeland to end the show.
