WWE Raw Sees Major Viewership Dropoff raw logo

This week on WWE Raw saw Seth Rollins face Sami Zayn in the main event, plus a 4-way for a title shot, a women’s battle royal and more.

Raw took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett on commentary.

Seth Rollins did a promo about still being the World Heavyweight Champion. Seth thanked Drew McIntyre for not joining The Judgment Day. Seth called out Sami Zayn to thank him for stopping Damian Priest from a Money in the Bank cash-in. Sami Zayn said that he promised to always fight against The Judgment Day and didn’t want them to be like The Bloodline if Priest was World Heavyweight Champion. Rollins said Zayn’s reward was a World Heavyweight Title match whenever he wanted. After they exchanged words a bit, Zayn chose later on Raw for the title match. Rollins agreed. Huge main event.

Match #1: The Judgment Day – Damian Priest & Finn Balor defeated The New Day – Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods by pinfall. It was a clean win with Priest sending Kofi into the commentary table. That was followed by Priest hitting South of Heaven on Woods and Balor hit the Coup de Grace on Woods for the pinfall win.

In the parking lot, Drew McIntyre was shown declining an interview earlier in the day. Drew said nothing and drove away in his car.

Match #2: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Akira Tozawa by pinfall. Nakamura won with a Kinshasa in about three minutes. After the match, Otis challenged Nakamura, but Nakamura left the ring without a fight.

Match #3:The Miz defeated Bronson Reed, Ivar & Ricochet in a Fatal 4-Way Match. The Miz pinned Reed (after Reed missed a Tsunami splash) at the same time that Ivar pinned Ricochet (after a moonsault), but Ricochet got his shoulder up at two. The replay showed that The Miz’s pin on Reed was a three count. The win by The Miz gives him an Intercontinental Title match against GUNTHER at Survivor Series.

After the match, Ivar attacked The Miz from behind. Ivar hit The Miz with a moonsault.

Chad Gable & Otis told Akira Tozawa they will be at NXT on Tuesday to support Tozawa’s NXT Heritage Cup match against Noam Dar.

Earlier in the day, The Creed Brothers & Ivy Nile signed Raw contracts in the office of Raw GM Adam Pearce. That trio are officially on Raw now.

Match #4: The Creed Brothers – Julius & Brutus Creed defeated #DIY – Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano by pinfall. Ludwig Kaiser of Imperium showed up during the match to kick Gargano in the head and The Creeds hit their Brutus Ball combo move for the pinfall win.

A Becky Lynch interview was interrupted by Nia Jax. After Jax bragged about breaking Becky’s nose (about five years ago), Lynch said she went on to main event WrestleMania while Jax went on to…get fired. Ouch.

The Women’s Battle Royal was about to start when Xia Li attacked Becky Lynch from behind. Raw GM Adam Pearce kicked Li out of the match while Lynch was out of it due to injury.

Match #5: Zoey Stark won a Battle Royal to earn a shot at the Women’s World Title at Survivor Series. Stark and Shayna Baszler were the final two with Stark hitting a DDT on the apron to eliminate Baszler.

The Women’s World Title match at Survivor Series will be Rhea Ripley defending her title against Zoey Stark.

Match #6: Seth “Freakin” Rollins defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Each guy hit some of their biggest moves for two counts. Zayn applied a Liontamer submission that led to a Boston Crab, but Rollins reversed it and turned into a pinning predicament for the three count to win. It was a 20-minute match. They shook hands after the match.

The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and their friend JD McDonagh attacked Sami Zayn in the aisle. They also attacked Rollins. Jey Uso was the first guy to make the save followed by Cody Rhodes. A bunch of officials, referees and security guards tried to break up the eight guys from fighting.

Raw GM Adam Pearce was alone in the ring saying he was tired of the games. Pearce officially announced the WarGames match for Survivor Series in Chicago. There was more brawling by the wrestlers including a Rhodes dive off the top onto the others. The show ended there.

They did not clarify if the Men’s Survivor Series WarGames match is 4-on-4 or if it will be 5-on-5 like last year.
