John Cena Gets Partner For Fastlane

John Cena entrance on SmackDown

John Cena has got himself a tag team partner.

The September 22nd episode of SmackDown ended with AJ Styles leaving the arena in an ambulance and Cena beaten down by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. The beating came after Cena had signed to face the pair at Fastlane.

Fast forward seven days and there was another twist to come. In the main event segment, Cena came to the ring and said he could either walk away or fight Sikoa and Jimmy on his own. Naturally, he chose the latter.

This brought out The Bloodline stars and another beatdown began, however, with Cena about to be splashed through the announce table, LA Knight’s music hit and he fought the duo off.

The show went off the air with LA Knight signing the contract to partner John Cena at Fastlane.

It was reported LA Knight was scheduled to be part of the segment on September 22nd but was pulled from the show after testing positive for COVID-19.

Who’s Joining John Cena At Fastlane?

Despite Fastlane taking place on October 7th, only three matches have been confirmed for the show. Aside from Cena teaming with LA Knight to take on the bloodline, Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing Match. The pair have a rival stretching back to August when Nakamura attacked Rollins on Raw.

In the other confirmed match, IYO SKY will put her Women’s Title on the line against Asuka and Charlotte Flair.

After the event in Indianapolis, WWE will head to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on November 4th, and then onto Survivor Series on November 25th.

In recent news, John Cena commented on his recent NXT appearance. Following NXT, Cena appeared on SmackDown to promote LA Knight. While the fans were happy to see John Cena, one Hall of Famer was not a fan of the segment.
