Toni Storm Mocks Infamous Charlotte Flair WWE Segment During AEW Collision

Toni Storm

On AEW Collision, Toni Storm looked back on “happier times,” including one infamous moment from WWE involving Charlotte Flair.

Since losing the Women’s Championship to Hikaru Shida back in August, Storm has undergone a startling transformation by taking on a Marilyn Monroe-esque character. In her ‘Portrait of a star’ segments, she is highly strung and volatile, often taking her frustrations out on her interviewer.

In the latest installment, in the aftermath of losing to Saraya, Storm was asked to name the peak of her career. This led to a rant about how she is treated by the wrestling business.

“This business can be a cruel mistress. I do miss the old days, it was a happier time, a simpler time, slap on a backwards hat, slap a pie in someone’s face, they loved you!

“Now, it’s, ‘What have you done for me recently?’ Now it’s, if you don’t bleed and cry every week then you won’t get a good write-up in the trades.

“Well, pardon me for being a star, and if the world has forgotten what that looks like, then chin up, tits out, I guess I’ll just have to remind them.”

The reference to slapping a pie in someone’s face was a callback to Storm’s time in WWE, where during a feud with Charlotte Flair in 2021, she did just that to the star as revenge for Flair doing the same to her earlier in the rivalry.

What did Toni Storm think of pie throwing angle in WWE?

When Toni Storm left the company shortly after the segments, many believed they played a part in her decision to depart. However, Storm has since said she didn’t mind it at all.

In an interview on AEW Unrestricted, the star said it was better than the alternative as ideas had been pitched that would have seen her getting her shirt ripped off.

“I was actually quite happy with that segment that day. It was a lot better than the original idea. The original idea was like, I was called up and asked if I was comfortable having my shirt ripped off or something.

“They wanted to do this whole angle where they wanted to rip my shirt off to be embarrassed, in my underwear, I guess. When you’re asked if you’re comfortable to do that and literally, people are being fired every single week, it’s like, ‘Well, yeah, I guess I’m comfortable with that.’ [said with nervous sarcasm].”
