Bobby Lashley has revealed that he recently asked Vince McMahon about competing in UFC.

At Money In The Bank on July 2nd, Bobby Lashley defeated Theory to win the United States Championship for a third time. The victory added another accolade to Lashley’s CV which has been boosted by recent WWE Championship runs alongside being heavily featured on Monday Night Raw.

However, it appears that Lashley is also determined to test himself outside of WWE, and has even enquired about being given the chance to do so.

Speaking in a new interview with Fightful, the All-Mighty revealed that following his success at Money In The Bank he asked Vince McMahon about fighting in UFC. Although the pitch was quickly rejected.

While Lashley has never competed in UFC before, he does have experience in Mixed Martial Arts. The former WWE Champion has a record of 17 fights with 15 wins with 2 defeats across stints with Bellator and Strikeforce among others. His most recent fight took place in October 2016 when he defeated Josh Appelt via submission at Bellator 162.

During the interview, Lashley reiterated his desire to fight competitively again.

Interestingly, WWE recently signed one of Bellator’s hottest talents in the form of Valerie Loureda. The star signed a multi-year deal after impressing at a try-out. Despite this, her contract still enables her to compete in the octagon.

Back in WWE, Bobby Lashley will be back in action at SummerSlam when he defends his United States Title against former champion Theory.
