Kevin Nash has revealed that WWE scrapped plans for a Scott Hall hologram at WrestleMania 38.
The careers and indeed the lives of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were intertwined for the best part of three decades. The two travelled the world, and created wrestling history side by side.
From their friendship in The Kilq in WWE in the mid 1990’s to their role in revolutionising professional wrestling in 1996 with the creation of the nWo. Aside from their success in the ring, the two men were incredibly close outside it.
On March 14th Scott Hall sadly passed away aged just 63. Hall had faced numerous health issues in recent years, before a blood clot was discovered after hip replacement surgery. The clot caused the star to suffer three heart attacks.
After Hall’s untimely passing, WWE ran a tribute video to their former star, while a number of Superstars paid their own tributes in matches and promos. However, Kevin Nash has revealed that the company initially planned a huge tribute for WrestleMania 38 which never came to fruition.
Speaking on his podcast Kilq This, Nash said that at one stage there were plans for a Scott Hall hologram to feature at WrestleMania.
“They [WWE] wanted to do some things. I just told them, I said, ‘Man, you guys can do whatever you want to do,
“There was talk about doing a hologram thing with Scott and some other things. I said, ‘You guys can do whatever you wanna do,’ I said, ‘I’m not.’ I said, ‘I’m not gonna f*cking say anything negative about anybody that wants to do something for him.’ I said, ‘I just – I’m not ready.’ F*ck, I didn’t leave my house. I didn’t go on the road. I didn’t shift for a while. It f*cked me up.”
Scott Hall was one of pro wrestling’s biggest personalities, while he spent many years battling demons related to drug and alcohol addiction. This led to claims that Hall could rub people the wrong way. However, Nash explained that his late friend was “misunderstood,” adding that he was blessed that he got to know him.
“So many people will say he was a d**k, you know, he was a pr**k,” Nash said. “I never saw Scott ever walk by a homeless person and not give them money. Never. I just feel blessed that I got to know him.”
Speaking on a different episode of the podcast, Nash praised Hall’s ability in the ring, describing him as the
“total package.”
