A familiar WWE Superstar will be making a return more than likely sooner rather than later.

Dave Meltzer is reported from the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Carlito Colon has inked a new deal with WWE. He provided further detail that Colon wrestled on the WWC’s 50th anniversary show in Puerto Rico last week. He fought in a losing effort to Intelecto 5 Estrellas who retained to keep the promotion’s Universal Title. Like they were for his surprise appearance at WWE Backlash, the crowd was really behind Colon in the match, but since he has signed with WWE, it wasn’t in the cards for him to get the victory. Post-bout Carlito kissed the ring while Hugo Savinovich teased his return to WWE.

WWE Superstar Carlito Colon Hasn’t Been A WWE Employee For Quite Awhile

Much has changed in WWE since Carlito was under contract with the company. He was last employeed by WWE in 2010 but ended up getting released on May 21 after violating their wellness program and refusing to attend rehab, something the company made public at the time.

However, Carlito had some memorable cameos since then, starting with the 2021 Royal Rumble and then the next night on Raw. The former Intercontinental Champion teamed with Jeff Hardy to face Elias and Jaxson Ryker. However, fans really caught note of Carlito’s star power in Puerto Rico when he received a reaction to Stone Cold Steve Austin levels as he assisted Bad Bunny in defeating Damian Priest in one of the headline matches at WrestleMania Backlash.
