Rob Van Dam Reflects On Teaming With HOOK At AEW Collision

Rob Van Dam and Hook

The “Whole F’N Show” Rob Van Dam has spoken about teaming with HOOK, calling it “a full circle moment.”

On AEW Collision’s 23rd September 2023 edition, Rob Van Dam made his second in-ring appearance for All Elite Wrestling, in front of his hometown crowd in Michigan.

He would team with HOOK on the show, to successfully overcome the challenge of “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, and “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker, in an eight-minute match.

One particular stand-out from this match is that HOOK is, of course, the son of Taz, whom Rob Van Dam had several run-ins with during his career. The two appeared as friends and foes in WWE and ECW from the mid-90’s to early 2000’s.

During a recent episode of his podcast, “1 of a Kind,” Rob Van Dam delved into his thoughts regarding his appearance on Collision.

“Of course it was awesome, that’s part of being RVD and connecting with the crowd and being a hometown hero.”

“It was fun, the guys were really cool that we worked with. Hook, really cool dude, good energy.”

“I heard a bunch of times that day, after I heard it the first time, that Taz and I teamed in that same building twenty five years earlier, so a full circle moment for the Taz family and RVD I guess. Pretty cool.”

Has Rob Van Dam Signed With AEW?

Though RVD is not officially “All Elite,” he has made a few appearances in the latter half of 2023. Two of those appearances have been in-ring, and one has involved him coming to the aid of his friend Jerry Lynn in a tense situation involving Jack Perry.

Rob Van Dam is 52 years old at the time of writing, and seems to still have a lot to give the wrestling industry.
