‘Good Ol’ JR’ Jim Ross commented on the booking of current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown.

Since ‘The Tribal Chief’ returned to World Wrestling Entertainment at SummerSlam 2020, he has been ruling the roost on Friday nights alongside Special Counsel Paul Heyman demanding respect from any and every star who steps up to him.

Braun Strowman, ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens and on-screen official Adam Pearce have fallen by the wayside during Roman’s reign of terror with the winner of the SmackDown Elimination Chamber on February 21 being the next in line to bow to the ‘Head of the Table.’

Now, Jim Ross has taken to his Grilling JR Podcast to discuss his opinion on Roman Reigns’ booking as well as his relationship with Paul Heyman who many have credited as the creative mastermind behind his current and most successful incarnation:

“Roman Reigns is being booked correctly because Paul Heyman is directing that ship and making sure they don’t get ahead of themselves. Heyman’s got the track record and the knowledge and the communication skills to see that that happens. There’s a filter between Roman Reigns and Vince [McMahon] and that’s Paul. As time goes on, Reigns will take more of that leadership role over, he’ll become more involved in him.”

Roman Reigns will be watching the SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match very closely on February 21 as he will put his coveted gold on the line against the winner immediately after the structure lifts, as rumours of him being Edge’s WrestleMania 37 choice persist.
