We cut back to Nia hitting a sidewalk slam yet another near-fall before locking in the stretch muffler and slamming Sasha headfirst into the turnbuckle.
  • Sasha just barely kicks out at two and Jax locks in the stretch muffler again but Banks rolls out, hitting a reverse meterora for a two count of her own. Nia goes for another samoan drop but Banks escapes and hits a tilt-a-whirl DDT into the Bank Statement.
  • Shayna enters the ring which distracts Banks long enough to release the hold. Baszler goes to kick Sasha in the face but inadvertently hits Nia instead before being thrown out the ring by Bianca. Sasha rolls Nia up for the three count, retaining her title.
  • A few segments later, we see Nia saying she’ll come after Shayna if she costs them the Women’s Tag Championship at Fastlane. Shayna says she will get a match with Bianca and “kick her head off” to make up for it.

Winner: Sasha Banks via Pinfall, retaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship in 9:37

Edge Interview

  • Kayla introduces Edge and asks how it feels to compete on SmackDown for the first time in a decade. Edge says the blue brand feels like home to him as some of the best and worst moments of his career have happened here.
  • He says coming back feels surreal but right as he feels Bryan needs to get a fair chance at Fastlane – which is why he needs to be special enforcer. He praises Jey as being a special talent but says he can’t reach his potential under Roman’s shadow and that’s why he’ll beat him tonight.

Seth Rollins Calls Out Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura Interrupts

  • Seth recalls how Cesaro took their disrespect of him too far when he declined Rollins’ offer to embrace the vision last month. Rollins says he’s a WrestleMania main eventer whilst Cesaro is an abject failure before showing us how he beat up ‘The Swiss Superman’ last week.
  • Rollins mocks how Cesaro can’t ‘reach the brass ring’ before claiming Cesaro is “the biggest waste of potential in WWE”. Shinsuke Nakamura interrupts, grabs the microphone from Rollins’ hand and tells him to shut up. Nakamura teases the Kinshasa but Rollins rolls out the ring.
  • The two brawl and the segments ends with Nakamura eventually hitting a Kinshasa on Rollins.

Daniel Bryan Addresses His Universal Championship Match At Fastlane

  • Bryan reminds us that the main event is Edge’s first match in over a decade and the winner becomes special enforcer of his Fastlane match. Bryan says it doesn’t matter whether Edge or Jey win because both ultimately want Roman to win.
  • Bryan says Edge wants Roman because he thinks he can beat ‘The Tribal Chief’ but Bryan KNOWS he can beat Roman, which is why he’ll beat him on Sunday. Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. Roman says he’s got a better chance of sprouting wings than causing Reigns to tap out.
  • Roman says he’d rather die than tap out in the middle of the ring. Bryan calls that extreme and says that everyone is “untapoutable” until they do tap, so Bryan is going to break him. He hopes Reigns doesn’t die but regardless, he’ll be taking the Universal Championship on Sunday.

Sami Zayn vs King Corbin

  • We see a promo video beforehand that hypes the match up as “the least anticipated match in SmackDown history” and “the match that no one wanted to see”. Owens joins commentary for this match.

  • Natalya and Tamina takedown Bianca in the ring as Tamina hits a swinging slam to incapacitate the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble winner.

Edge vs Jey Uso – Winner becomes Special Enforcer for Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns at Fastlane
