Killer Kross has opened up about the surprising career path he almost took outside of wrestling.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes’ Lead Writer Gary Cassidy for Issue 18 of Inside The Ropes Magazine, Killer Kross answered our 20 Questions and revealed how he was once a qualified family mediator, and wanted to become a neurologist!

When asked about his secret talent, the former NXT Champion joked:

“If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”

However, not one to remain coy, Kross delved into his high school aspirations.

“No, for real… I do like to help people and in a previous life, we can say it that way, I was interested in going to school for neurology.

“When I was in high school, I was dead set on becoming a professional wrestler and unfortunately, in a naive state, being a young kid, I kind of went through the motions of school and I did the bare minimum.”

The former Karrion Kross added that he was trying to get into an established university, but was simply let down by his grades.

“My grades were not good enough to wind up going into university. I was trying to get into York at the time in Toronto, Canada.

“The competition, I mean, you had to have stellar marks in order to get into neurology, and I didn’t realise that I wanted to get into neurology until maybe the tail end. I didn’t realise I had such an interest in it.”

The former WWE Superstar added how he actually took many courses in family mediation.

“I was studying it recreationally and then, just by a series of different events, I wound up taking a bunch of courses in family mediation – which covers sociology, psychology, anthropology, human development, child development, screening for substance abuse and power imbalances, and then also screening people for personality and behavioural pattern disorders.”

Killer Kross was actually, at one point, a certified family mediator.

“So for a short period of time, I was certified to be a family mediator.

“I think I’ve just always been a good listener and I try to listen to people and help them, and I’ve always been that way since I was a kid.”

During the 20 Questions segment of the interview, the former Karrion Kross added that, while he still has aspirations in that field, if he weren’t a wrestler, he’d likely want to become an actor.

“Right now, at this point in my life, if I wasn’t going to be able to be a wrestler, I’d be an actor. But if I was going to be completely removed from the entertainment industry, I would like to get into neurology, I would be interested in going to school for that and that would be something I’d definitely be interested in doing.”
