Jake The Snake Withdraws From Dynamite Due To Illness

Jake Roberts

Jake Roberts has confirmed he will not be appearing on tonight’s AEW Dynamite due to illness, confirming he’ll be back in two weeks.

Roberts, who has been resurgent in AEW, alongside Lance Archer, stated that the illness is not Covid, but seemed confident he’ll be able to return in two weeks. The wrestling legend would reveal recently how he was struggling with COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease – revealing just how serious the illness is.

“When I don’t get the right amount of oxygen into my blood, if I talk for 20 seconds, I’m done. I can’t go anymore. This is going to be something I’ll have to work with [for the rest of my life].”

Taking to Twitter, Roberts told fans to “keep an eye” on Lance for him.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to appear tonight due to illness (not COVID). These days we all have to be on point. Looking forward to seeing everyone in two weeks. In the meantime, keep an eye on Lance for me on #AEWDynamite”

Meanwhile, tonight’s AEW Dynamite has been confirmed to feature Sting for the third week in a row, while Eddie Kingston will confront his enemies, too.

Inside the Ropes wishes Jake Roberts a speedy recovery during this difficult period.
