JBL – “Shelton Benjamin Is One Of The Most Talented Guys I’ve Ever Been Round”

JBL has heaped praise on Shelton Benjamin, describing the veteran as one of the most talented guys he’s ever been around.

John “Bradshaw” Layfield has been involved in professional wrestling in some shape, form or fashion for almost three decades. During that time he became a fixture of Attitude Era WWE alongside Ron Simmons in the APA, before embarking on a singles run which would see him capture the WWE Championship at the Great American Bash in 2004.

By the time the rugged Texan brought his full-time in-ring career to a close in 2009, he had tangled with some of the highly regarded WWE Superstars in history. Sharing the ring with the likes of The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels.

However, speaking during a recent episode of the Stories with Briscoe and Bradshaw podcast, JBL reserved special praise for one WWE Superstar in particular, multiple-time Tag Team Champion Shelton Benjamin.

During a Q&A, Bradshaw was asked to name what his current cabinet would look like. During his time as WWE Champion, JBL created a stable known as The Cabinet, made up of Orlando Jordan, Danny and Doug Basham and Amy Weber.

“Normally you’re trying to build people. So some of these people are already main event people, take that for granted… I’m talking about if I just had my choices.

So first of all, you need a coordinator to do everything, like Amy Weber was. That would be Sonya Deville. No doubt about it. She’s incredibly talented. She’s very articulate, she can talk, that’s what you need for that role. I think Sonya Deville would be fantastic in that role.

You need someone that’s your enforcers. I love Chad Gable and Otis. I think Chad Gable is incredibly entertaining. Now a close second would be Shelton Benjamin. Mainly because I love Shelton Benjamin. He’s one of the most talented guys I’ve ever, ever been around. So he and Cedric… may have to just put them all in.

Then you need the right hand guy. Damian Priest. Not a doubt in my mind. That guy has got a look that you couldn’t replicate in a 100 creative meetings. He’s that good. Good looking guy, he can talk, he can work. I think he’d be perfect.”

Shelton Benjamin recently linked back up with Cedric Alexander and Bobby Lashley, reforming The Hurt Business. Benjamin and Alexander had earlier been kicked out of the group before they began feuding with each other. However, on the September 27th edition of Raw, Benjamin and Alexander joined with Lashley to fight off The New Day.
