Kenny Omega Returns On AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega

10 months after his last AEW appearance Kenny Omega is back and in search of championship gold.

Entering to a monster ovation, Kenny Omega soaked up the adulation from the crowd on the way to the ring. The reception confirmed the Young Bucks and Omega as the fan favourites for the contest, and the trio rode the wave of fan support all the way to victory in the main event.

While the team of Andrade El Idolo, RUSH and Dragon Lee enjoyed large spells of control in the match, Omega and the Bucks were not to be denied. Wrestling in an unfamiliar compression top and shoulder brace, Omega showed a few signs of ring-rust, but naturally it had to be the former World Champion who proved to be the difference maker.

Surviving an onslaught from Andrade and Dragon Lee, Omega responded with a One-Winged Angel on the latter to score the win.

Kenny Omega hadn’t been seen in AEW since November 2021, shortly after losing the AEW World Championship to Hangman Adam Page at Full Gear.

It had been suggested that Omega had been struggling with a number of injuries prior to his defeat to Page, but the full extent of his issues didn’t become clear until he stepped away. The star himself revealed that he had been suffering with bouts of vertigo since 2018, while he also underwent surgery on a troublesome knee issue as well as a sports hernia.

To top things off, The Cleaner had also been competing with a torn labrum.
