Bobby Lashley Explains Why He Thinks He “Scared” Brock Lesnar

Bobby Lashley has discussed his confrontation with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and why he thinks he managed to scare The Beast Incarnate on Raw.

At WWE Day 1 on New Year’s Day, Brock Lesnar became WWE Champion for the sixth time in his storied career after a massive change of plans. Lesnar was originally scheduled to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at the event before a COVID diagnosis left The Tribal Chief having to sit the event out.

Instead, Lesnar was added to the originally scheduled Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE Title. The Conqueror managed to see off Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, and then-WWE Champion Big E to claim the crown once again.

Now Lashley gets a one-on-one bite at Brock Lesnar as he challenges for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. Speaking to Corey Graves on the After The Bell podcast, The All Mighty one gave his thoughts on the recent showdown between the two behemoths on Raw:

“Bobby was at Brock’s level a long time ago. I’m at a whole different level right now, and I think Brock knows that. The same way I was saying I looked in Brock’s eyes and I saw that Brock didn’t have a soul, Brock was looking in my eyes and he saw that I enjoyed that, and I think that scared him a little bit.”

“When you stand in front of somebody and look them in their eyes, you can read their soul. Every time I looked at him and we locked eyes for a little bit, I said, ‘This son of a gun does not have a soul. Brock doesn’t have a soul.’”

The bout at the Royal Rumble will be the first time that two wrestling and MMA stars have met one-on-one. Lashley has previously discussed his desire to face Lesnar, describing the potential bout as a “dream match.”
