Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix Possibly Caused Major Changes To AEW WrestleDream

Jon Moxley Set For Huge Championship Match At AEW All Out

The International Title match between Rey Fenix and Jon Moxley likely caused some big changes to AEW WrestleDream.

The big battle between Jon Moxley and Rey Fenix didn’t go as planned with Moxley getting hurt even before the match. Fightful followed up today with additional news on the situation. Although Moxley later indicated that he was okay following the fight, an audiblle was called in the match that had Rey Fenix winning the title.

The outcome of the bout caused major changes to Dynamite and more than likely, WrestleDream. According to Fightful, the plans were to have a non-AEW wrestler come out on Dynamite and challenge Moxley for the title at the PPV this weekend. There is no word as to who the talent was.

Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix Outcome Gave Heavy Heat To An AEW Official

The whole messy outcome of Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix didn’t just affect the in-ring talent, but another person in the ring is feeling the heat following the fight. Several sources in AEW contacted Fightful stating that referee Rick Knox has gotten heavy heat over what transpired in the ring. Knox is reportedly well-liked, but mistakes like this have happened before with him.

Someone who has been vocal about Rick Knox’s decision-making while on air is the WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross. Even during AEW All In, Jim Ross criticized Knox’s officiating during the triple-tag match between Bullet Club Gold and The Elite, questioning Knox’s ability to maintain order in the match.
