On Wednesday night’s edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Chris Jericho would battle MJF at AEW Full Gear with major consequences should Le Champion fall.
If Chris Jericho loses to the cocksure young gun then MJF will become a member of the Inner Circle. Something the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion and his cohorts do not want.
The bout was made official during the pair’s Town Hall Meeting between the Inner Circle and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The consultation, hosted by Eric Bischoff, was meant to determine whether or not to induct the star into faction.
After the bloc answered questions from Bischoff and multiple AEW Superstars, Chris Jericho refused his rival entry citing that he had never beaten him. However, MJF was extended a lifeline when the mega-star pitched a bout at Full Gear with MJF joining if he succeeded.
Chris Jericho’s olive branch may backfire though. Yearning to join AEW’s first heel faction, Friedman promised the Fozzy frontman that he would do absolutely anything to win.
The announcement comes after weeks of back and forth between MJF and Chris Jericho which included the Dinner Debonair musical segment last week were both men broke out into song during a sit-down meal.
