On April 6th, Ring of Honor held its latest set of TV tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

In amongst all the action, Mercedes Martinez made her return to the promotion for the first time since Final Battle back in December. At that event, Martinez’ 220-day reign as the ROH Women’s Champion came to an end at the hands of Athena.

In her first match back since the loss, Martinez defeated indie star Ashley D’Amboise.

Martinez is a veteran of the ring, having begun her career over two decades ago in 2001. During that time she has worked in promotions all around the world including two stints in WWE. The star was a big part of the NXT women’s division and had feuds against the likes of Rhea Ripley, Xia Li, and IYO SKY.

In December 2021, Martinez signed with AEW and has since become part of Ring of Honor.
