Eric Bischoff Claims AEW Star “Shouldn’t Have Been On” Forbidden Door

Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff is always outspoken when it comes to constructive criticism for the modern wrestling product and he sure had some for one AEW star this weekend.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2 took place on Sunday and while the card for the event was stacked, it was a little too stacked for the former WCW President. Speaking on “83 Weeks” Bischoff believed going by Jungle Boy Jack Perry’s performance against SANADA, he shouldn’t have been on the show.

“Less than impressed. I don’t get it. I don’t wanna be critical, but Jungle Boy’s work just, I tweeted it out last night, he couldn’t crack an egg with a hammer. It just didn’t look believeable to me. So much so that it actually, I don’t wanna say it made me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan, but he was out of place. He should not have been on the show. He looked non-interested is the way I felt about it. The forearms and some of the things that he was laying in there looked like he was trying not to make contact.”

Eric Bischoff Keeps Optimistic About Jack Perry

Despite perception Perry gave off to Eric in the ring, from a character standpoint the young star does have a lot to fight for. The “pillar” turned to the dark side following his loss to SANADA as he hit Hook with a lariat on stage before indicating his interest in the FTW Title. While his striking ability left Bischoff a little more to be desired, Easy E hopes it may have just been a one-time occurance.

“I hope it was just an off night because if that’s an example of some of his best work and him getting up for a major show in front of a huge audience, I don’t know man, doesn’t make sense to me.”
