Wardlow is All Elite

Despite reports suggesting that he wouldn’t be even be in the building, MJF went toe-to-toe with Wardlow at Double or Nothing, but he couldn’t deal with Mr Mayhem.

From the moment that MJF no shows a fan-fest event on May 28th, reports began swirling that MJF wouldn’t even be at Double or Nothing.

It was even noted that just hours before the show began that the star wasn’t in the building. However, come the big night, the ‘Salt of the Earth’ was on hand to make his signature entrance, even if he did make the crowd wait a little longer than usual.

By the time MJF got to the ring, he also took the chance to mock reports that he was going to board a plane and head home before the show, by doing an aeroplane gesture.

With the taunting over, Wardlow entered in handcuffs without music to a monster ovation from the Las Vegas crowd.

Although MJF did his best to avoid confrontation, even reaching for his Dynamite Diamond Ring, Mr Mayhem eventually caught up with his target.

What followed was an exercise in merciless power and punishment. Wardlow delivered ten Powerbombs, teasing a pin part way though before picking his rival up to continue the destruction. When the referee was finally allowed to count to three, the crowd roared their approval, before MJF left the ring on a stretcher.

As Wardlow made his way back up the ramp, Tony Schiavone announced that Wardlow was All Elite.

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, MJF did not appear as advertised at the AEW fan-fest event on May 28th. The event was part of a near week long array of shows and meet and greet style events ahead of Double or Nothing on May 29th.

In recent months, the ‘Salt of the Earth’ has been open about his desire to spark a bidding war for his services in 2024 between AEW and WWE. As well as praising WWE interviews, the ‘Salt of the Earth’ has repeatedly referenced his contractual situation on AEW television.
