AEW Star Cody Rhodes has revealed that he believes the TNT Championship to be the best title in wrestling.

The former TNT Champion was holding a Q&A on Twitter when a fan asked what would be next for Rhodes after his match with Malakai Black on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, which takes place on 22 September.

Cody responded that he wanted to go after the “best title in the game”, referring to the TNT Championship which he lost to Darby Allin back at Full Gear in November 2020. He also pointed out that he never requested a rematch after losing the belt.

“The best title in the game – want to redo the belt

(Never solicited a rematch after I lost it)”

The current TNT Champion, Miro, defeated Allin in dominant fashion in May 2021 and has seen off all challengers since then. On the latest episode of Rampage, ‘The Redeemer’ racked up his eighth defence of the belt – matching both Cody’s first reign and Allin’s only reign so far – when he defeated Fuego Del Sol with multiple Machka Kicks to the challenger’s head.

Cody Rhodes is currently embroiled in a feud with Malakai Black, who defeated him in under four minutes in Black’s first match for AEW. Since then, Black has been making his way through the Nightmare Family while Cody was absent. However, Rhodes finally returned to the company on the most recent episode of Dynamite and attacked the Dutchman, setting the scene for their rematch at Grand Slam.
