WWE Planning For Damian Priest To Split From The Judgment Day

Damian Priest could be the latest Superstar to be expelled from The Judgment Day.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the long-term plan for the group is to have the Money in the Bank briefcase holder leave the faction. It is also speculated that Priest will be replaced by JD McDonagh, but this is “probable and not 100%.”

McDonagh looks to factor into the group in the near future, being portrayed as Finn Balor’s close friend on commentary and providing assistance in various matters.

Descension in the group has been seen ever since the former United States Champion was able to capture the briefcase at the Premium Live Event back in July. Later that night, Priest would make his way to ringside during the World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, but this would distract Balor and allow Rollins to retain.

History would repeat itself at SummerSlam, with miscommunications causing further issues. Balor walked to the ring for the title rematch alone, not wanting any assistance. Priest, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley would all try to distract the referee but would prove to be ineffective. The ending of the match saw Priest slide the briefcase into the ring, but the positioning would be optimal for Rollins to hit the Stomp onto Balor onto the briefcase to win once again.

The briefcase is seemingly cursed for Balor, as once again it would be his downfall on the August 14th episode of Raw, as Priest slid the case in again but it would go past Balor and into the hands of opponent Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare was able to strike Balor with the case and win the main event match. The Judgment Day would stand tall afterwards, but how strong is the group?

Damian Priest Poised For Breakout Moment?

Senior Money in the Bank looks set for big things in the tail end of 2023 to early 2024. Following being trusted with the role of Bad Bunny’s opponent at WWE Backlash, Damian Priest literally climbed the ladder to the next level in London, grabbing the briefcase and being guaranteed a future title opportunity.

In recent news, Damian Priest has named the proudest moment of his WWE career.
