Current WWE Star Was Set To Use Hulk Hogan’s Iconic Entrance Theme

A current WWE Superstar has made the surprise revelation that they almost ended up using Hulk Hogan’s iconic theme music.

Hulk Hogan began using “Real American” as his entrance music back in late 1985, and it quickly became as iconic within the wrestling world as the man himself. Hogan used the theme when he was at the absolute peak of his popularity up until he left the WWF in 1993.

While Hogan used “Voodoo Chile” upon returning to the company in 2002, “Real American” has been wheeled out for many of the WWE Hall of Famer’s returns since.

Incredibly, a current WWE Superstar has revealed that there were once plans for him to use the song as well.

In a post on social media a fan suggested that Mustafa Ali should use the iconic entrance theme as “Real Americans come in every shape, size and skin tone.” In response, Ali revealed that at one point that was indeed the plan.

Funnily enough, while the song became part of the Hulk Hogan legend, it originally started off as a homage to the US Express made up of Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo.

Mustafa Ai has enjoyed something of a career resurgence in recent weeks following Triple H’s appointment as WWE’s Head of Creative. The star was featured heavily as he attempted to become the number of contender for the United States Title, while he later teamed with Cedric Alexander to take on Ciampa and The Miz. In addition, Ali has been wrestling Finn Balor at recent live events.
