Huge Seth Rollins Match Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam

On the July 17th edition of Raw, WWE confirmed that Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at SummerSlam.

Rollins sat for an interview with Byron Saxton on the show to outline his intentions for a marquee matchup for his championship at SummerSlam. Rollins discussed potential opponents and said that while Balor was on the shortlist, so were other potential competitors such as Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, and Gunther.

As Rollins was listing names Balor walked into the room and took over the interview, he sat face-to-face with Rollins and expressed his desire for a rematch stating that the two’s business was unfinished. Balor instructed Rollins to talk to Adam Pearce to get the match made.

Rollins told Balor that the title is bigger than his personal vendetta and that if he wanted to settle the score, they don’t need a match, instead they could do so right now. Balor then walked off before returning to blindside Rollins with a chair and attacking the champion who lay on the floor.

Later on the show, the broadcast team confirmed that Rollins will face Balor for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

When Have Seth Rollins And Finn Balor Wrestled Before?

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor had a match for the title at Money in the Bank in the O2 Arena in London on July 1st. The match saw Balor nearly capture the title from Rollins after he managed to hit two Coup de Graces on Rollins.

While Balor was setting up to deliver a third, fellow Judgement Day member Damien Priest stood up and looked as if he was about to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, that Priest had won earlier in the night, this distracted Balor which allowed Rollins to deliver The Stomp to Balor to retain his title.

Rollins and Balor also competed in the tournament to crown the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, with Rollins beating Balor in the semi-final.
