NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 Predictions

NXT Stand & Deliver 2023

WrestleMania weekend is here and brings with it a wave of wrestling. NXT joins WWE in Hollywood for its second Premier Live Event of the year Stand & Deliver.

The event goes down at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angles, California and offers up an awesome card which features the brand’s best and brightest talents. All the titles are on the line and the stakes are very high.

Here is the card for NXT Stand and Deliver:

  • Bron Breakker (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – NXT Championship
  • Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Indi Hartwell – Women’s title ladder match
  • Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn – Women’s Tag Team Championships
  • Wes Lee vs. Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh vs. Axiom – North American Championship
  • Gallus (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D’Angelo & Stacks – Tag Team Championships
  • The Schism vs. Chase U & Tyler Bate – Winner Gets The School
  • Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller – Unsanctioned Match

With all this going on let’s have look at the matches and pick who we think will leave Stand & Deliver as the winner.

Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller – Unsanctioned Match

NXT Stand & Deliver Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller

When Mr NXT Johnny Gargano emotionally left the company Grayson Waller saw him off with a vicious chair shot to the back. Since then the obnoxious Aussie has continued his rise through the NXT ranks. But when his challenge for the championship was unsuccessful he took it out on management, particularly Shawn Michaels.

Waller called out HBK to a match, but the man in charge refused. Instead, he called upon his former student, Johnny Wrestling to settle the score. Gargano and Waller have history. Back in 2021 during an emotional farewell speech, Waller laid him out with a steel chair.

Upon confronting the arrogant Aussie, Gargano wanted revenge and offered him out for an unsanctioned match.

Prediction: Gargarno has all the experience needed when it comes to unsanctioned matches. His legendary feud with Tommaso Ciampa featured one of the best bouts in that style. But Waller is no stranger to getting violent and doing everything needed to get the victory. Waller is one of NXT’s top prospects and a win over Gargano would go a long way in continuing his journey to the top of the brand. Waller wins.

The Schism vs. Chase U & Tyler Bate – Winner gets the school

NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 The Schism vs. Chase U & Tyler Bate

After weeks of feuding, which involved Ava physically kidnapping Thea Hail the two factions will finally go to war in a battle for existence.

On the March 21st episode of NXT, Schism and Chase U took part in a debate, which saw the two factions go back and forth on the microphone. During the exchange former NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate joined Chase U to even out the odds. Duke Hudson then put the existence of Chase U on the line much to the dismay of his leader, Andre Chase.

The two factions will now meet at Stand and Deliver in a Winner Takes The School match.

Prediction: If the lead-up to this match is anything to go by then Chase U’s days are numbered. Duke Hudson seems disenfranchised with the school, which will definitely come into play and be exploited by Gacy and his crew during the match. The Schism wins.

Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn – NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships

NXT Stand & Deliver Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn - NXT Women's Tag Team Championships

On the March 14 episode of NXT, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn won a triple-threat tag team match against Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley and Katana Chance and Kayden Carter to become the number-one contenders for the titles.

The champion’s partnership is on shaky ground due to their rocky relationship way before they even a team. The fiery Scots make an unpredictable and formidable duo all of which makes for a very interesting clash.

Prediction: The story between James and Hanley has always been one of resentment and titles have nothing to squash it. Fyre and Dawn are both conniving and vindictive and they will expose the champions’ weaknesses and leave them at odds before taking them down. Fyre and Dawn win leaving James and Hanely to go on and feud.

Gallus (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D’Angelo & Stacks – NXT Tag Team Championships

Gallus (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D’Angelo & Stacks - NXT Tag Team Championships

In order to recapture the tag team titles the Creed Brothers embarked on a session of bar games with Gallus. During the games, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks got involved making it a three-way.

After the games of pool, darts and drinking the three teams agreed on a three-way match for the titles at Stand and Deliver.

Prediction: Gallus makes formidable champions, but the Creed Brothers are a solid duo while D’Angelo and Stacks are not afraid of using nefarious means to get the victory. With that being said, a wild brawl is the perfect outing for the big Scots. Gallus win.

Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Indi Hartwell – Women’s title Ladder Match

NXT Stand & Deliver - Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Indi Hartwell - Women's title Ladder Match

At Roadblock, Roxanne Perez dramatically collapsed after her successful title defence against Meiko Satomura. As she was taken away on the stretcher she let the fans know she was ok. However, a few days later Shawn Michaels revealed she was unable to compete and a ladder match would crown a new Women’s Champion.

The five participants were chosen after winning qualifying matches, providing fans with one hell of a match-up. However, Perez made her return and demanded she be reinstated as champion and be inserted into the match.

Prediction: The stipulation means there are several possible winners meaning Perez’s title reign is in serious jeopardy. Everyone has a shot of leaving with the title but Stark seems like the strong choice. A strong heel champ gives weight to the division and allows for a good chase storyline. Zoey Stark wins.

Wes Lee vs. Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh vs. Axiom – North American Championship

NXT Stand & Deliver - Wes Lee vs. Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh vs. Axiom - North American Championship

Ever since winning the North American Championship at Halloween Havoc, Wes Lee has put the title on the line against multiple challengers. Wanting to mix things up on the March 14th episode of NXT the champ issued an open challenge, which quickly descended into chaos.

The following week Shawn Michaels declared Lee would defend the title in Fatal Five-Way match against opponents of his choosing. Lee picked NXT newcomer Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh and Ilya Dragunov while the final participant would have to win a battle royal. Axiom won the match and therefore qualified for the title bout.

Prediction: Regardless of who wins this match is going to be spectacular. All competitors bring something different to that fight and could leave the match as the champion. Expect to see amazing high-flying antics from Axiom, Wes Lee and Dragon Lee while Dragunov and McDonaugh bring the violence and wince-inducing strikes. But with that being said, the champ needs more time with the title to further cement his future superstar potential. Wes Lee wins.

Bron Breakker (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – NXT Championship

NXT Stand & Deliver Bron Breakker (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes - NXT Championship

Carmelo Hayes finally gets his shot at Bron Breakker and the NXT Champion. The former North American Champion had Breakker, his title and the top spot in his sights for a long time. He waited for NXT’s biggest show of the year to challenge the champion and claim his place at the pinnacle of NXT.

While Hayes has been waiting to stake in claim. Breakker has been taking out anyone who steps up against him. Tomasso Ciampa, Dolph Ziggler, Jinder Mahal, Tyler Bate, Apollo Crews and Grayson Waller to name but a few have tried and failed to dethrone the second generation powerhouse.

Prediction: Bron Breakker has been the poster child for NXT ever since the rebrand. He carried the brand and the title proudly on his shoulders, but it feels as if his time as the champ is coming to an end. If that is the case then there is no one better than Carmelo Hayes to take the title from him. He is easily the most popular star on the brand and an incredible talent who has a very bright future ahead of him and would make an awesome champion. Hayes wins.

NXT Stand & Deliver, is live on Saturday, April 1st, streaming on Peacock at 1 pm ET/10 am PT in the US and on the WWE Network at 5 pm UK time.
