WWE WrestleMania 39 Night 2 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

WrestleMania 39 continues for its second epic night of action after a hugely successful opening night.

Night 1 saw some incredible matches, shocking results and huge surprises. Night 2 has some huge shoes to fill and the stacked line-up has certainly the potential to top it.

The full card is as follows:

  • GUNTHER (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus – Intercontinental Championship
  • Finn Balor vs. Edge – Hell in a Cell Match
  • Rhonda Rousey and Shayna Bazsler vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville – Women’s WrestleMania Showcase fatal four-way tag team match
  • Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka – Raw Women’s Championship
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Omos
  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

With all this going on there is a lot that could happen. So let’s have a look at who we think leaves Hollywood with their hands held high in victory.

GUNTHER (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus – Intercontinental Championship

WWE WrestleMania GUNTHER (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus - Intercontinental Championship

McIntyre and Sheamus went from partners to enemies in their quest for the Intercontinental Championship but a clear number-one contender couldn’t be confirmed. After weeks of uncertainty surrounding the IC title scene, GUNTHER finally got his match confirmed for WrestleMania.

However, instead of getting one challenger, he gets two in the intimidating forms of Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. Now all three will both get their chance to claim the gold in what will undoubtedly be a super heavyweight classic.

Prediction: This match is a potential show-stealer. All three will destroy each other in an absolute banger. But despite the anticipation for the fight, there has to be a winner and each warrior can leave Hollywood with the title. Sheamus has never won the IC title, McIntyre needs a career refresh and GUNTHER seems to be headed to the main event. Therefore, Sheamus wins to become Grand Slam Champion.

Demon Finn Balor vs. Edge – Hell in a Cell Match

WWE WrestleMania - Demon Finn Balor vs. Edge - Hell in a Cell Match

Edge and Finn Balor have been at each other’s throats for months and simply cannot let their hatred dissipate. Ever since Balor usurped Edge from his own faction, the Judgement Day they have been intertwined in rivalry.

The feud led them to several heated battles including an “I Quit” match at Extreme Rules which resulted in Rhea Ripley taking out Beth Phoenix with a con-chair-to. The four enemies met at Elimination Chamber in tag team action, but despite being defeated the group continued to target the Rated-R Superstar and his family.

Now they finally get to settle their differences at WrestleMania inside the unforgiving structure of Hell in a Cell. Since the match was made, Balor has confirmed he is bringing back the Demon to ride him and the Judgement Day of Edge.

Prediction: Ever since Balor and Edge began their feud, the Hall of Famer has always had the upper hand. Now with the stipulation and return of the Demon, Balor can finally end this deeply personal rivalry. Demon Balor wins.

Rhonda Rousey and Shayna Bazsler vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville – Women’s WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match

WWE WrestleMania - Rhonda Rousey and Shayna Bazsler vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville - Women's WrestleMania Showcase fatal four-way tag team match

WWE announced there would be two WrestleMania showcase matches. While the men’s participants were named outright the women had to qualify. Following several qualifying matches the teams were chosen and the match was set.

Prediction: Is there any other choice than Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler? The MMA will pick up the win and go after Lynch and Lita for the Tag Team Championships. Rousey and Baszler win.

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka – Raw Women’s Championship

WWE WrestleMania Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka - Raw Women's Championship

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair faces one of her toughest challengers at WrestleMania in the form of Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow grasped her chance to become the number one contender for the title by defeating five other opponents inside the Elimination Chamber.

Since becoming Belair’s challenger Asuka has both teamed with and misted the champion adding some much-needed spice to this feud.

Prediction: Despite being a decent champion it seems as if Bianca Belair’s title run has run out of steam and a victory over someone the calibre of Asuka, will go a long way to revive and refresh both the EST of WWE and her championship reign.

Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

WWE WrestleMania Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

It just wouldn’t be a WrestleMania without a clash of the titans spectacular and this year we get Brock Lesnar against the Nigerian Giant Omos.

Alongside MVP, Omos challenged Lesnar to a match to prove who is the biggest beast in WWE. Lesnar gladly accepted the challenge in what will be a special attraction bout if nothing else.

Since the match was set Omos has got the better of Lesnar on several occasions giving the Beast something to think about heading into WrestleMania Night 2.

Prediction: The sight of Brock Lesnar hauling Omos above his head and dropping him with an F-5 will be something to behold. Lesnar wins.

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

WWE WrestleMania Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Cody Rhodes gets to fulfil his destiny and become the first Rhodes to win the WWE Championship. Ever since his return to the company he has declared his desire to win the title in an ode to his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes.

Unfortunately, the person holding the titles is the indisputable Roman Reigns. The Head of the Table is unbeaten in three years and has held the title for a whopping 900+ days.

Ever since Rhodes chose Reigns as his opponent the Bloodline has been on shaky ground, which has begun to affect its leader. The unified front once so solidly portrayed by the group is rarely seen and Rhodes has exploited it in more ways than one.

Firstly, he sided with Sami Zayn in his own fight against the faction; and secondly, he instigated the reunion of Zayn and Owens, which occupied the Usos. Could these mind games pay dividends for the American Nightmare or will the Tribal Chief continue to reign supreme?

Prediction: It seems written in the stars that Rhodes is the one to finally dethrone the Tribal Chief. However, it would not be shocking to see Reigns continue his epic run as the undisputed champion. The Bloodline storyline is one of the best ever told and there is certainly more fuel in the tank. But, if Rhodes doesn’t win, who is left to take down the Head of the Table? Rhodes wins.

WrestleMania goes Hollywood for a special two-night Premium Live Event, Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
