Bryan Danielson still wants to return to Japan.

The American Dragon recently revealed that he’s now in the final year of his full-time career. Although Danielson isn’t ready to hang up his boots altogether, his schedule will soon be scaled back significantly.

This has seen fans and the man himself discuss the idea of a wrestling bucket list with time seemingly of the essence.

During an appearance on the Nikki & Brie Show, Danielson was asked about wrestling in Japan before all is said and done.

“Maybe. I never say never, Wrestling in Japan is one of my favorite places in the world to wrestle, if not the favorite place. I loved wrestling in Japan, I’d love to wrestle there more, it’s just a matter of schedule and a matter of time.”

Bryan Danielson Admits G1 Climax Might Be Impossible

Speaking elsewhere, Bryan Danielson described his desire to compete in the famous G1 Climax Tournament as a “delusion.” The star pointed to his long injury history as the main stumbling block, adding that he’s trying to ensure he can have a healthy life after he retires.

“By the time the next G1 rolls around, I’ll be 43, and with how many injuries…that’s a big part of why I want to step away from full-time wrestling too. To do this, I love doing this, but it’s not worth the expense of my health later on in life. I’ve already had enough injuries as it is.”

Although his G1 dream looks unlikely, Bryan Danielson was the first entrant announced for AEW’s Continental Classic, which has a similar format to NJPW’s flagship tournament.
