Another Big Name Injured And Racing To Be Fit For AEW Blood And Guts

Wheeler Yuta, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Double or Nothing

Following the news that Bryan Danielson will miss Blood and Guts through injury, another AEW star is rushing to be fit for the match.

On the July 5th episode of Dynamite, Wheeler Yuta took on Kenny Omega in the main event in the latest installment of the war between The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club. In the end, it was Omega who got the win, with the group trying to get some momentum going before Blood and Guts on July 19th.

However, not everyone came out of the match unscathed. It’s been reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Wheeler Yuta suffered a hamstring injury during the clash, although it’s not a full tear and he’s expected to be back soon.

“Wheeler Yuta suffered a hamstring injury in the match with Omega on 7/5. Right now the belief is that it’s not a full tear and that he will be able to return on 7/19 for Blood & Guts in Boston”

Eddie Kingston And Bryan Danielson Will Also Miss AEW Blood And Guts

The report on Wheeler Yuta comes after it was confirmed by AEW that Bryan Danielson and Eddie Kingston will also miss Blood and Guts. For his part, Kingston will be in Japan competing in the G1 Climax Tournament, while Danielson is recovering from the broken arm he suffered in his recent match with Kazuchika Okada.

The commentary also confirmed that two mystery combatants will be announced in the coming weeks. Speaking after Dynamite went off the air, Kenny Omega hinted that he’d already spoken with the big name who’ll be joining The Elite, leading many to believe the group will be joined in battle by Kota Ibushi.
