WWE Backlash has been revealed as the second European Premium Live Event in 2024.
As announced on social media, Backlash will air live in Lyon France on Saturday, May 4 2024. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a taping of SmackDown will take place the night before.

Both shows will take place at the CDLC Arena, which is said to have a total capacity of 16,000 for standard events and 12,000 for sporting events. With the show taking place in May, this will be the first big show since WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
The announcement confirms previous reports that Backlash in France was heavily discussed internally following the announcement that the company would be hosting a first-time-ever Premium Live Event in Berlin, Germany at the end of August.
WWE Confirms More International Events
The promotion has now confirmed that at least 5 major shows will be held internationally in 2024. Along with the two contracted shows that will take place in Saudi Arabia, the following international PLEs have been confirmed:
- Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia: February 24th
- Backlash in Lyon, France: May 4th
- Bash In Berlin: August 31st
