Real1 (FKA Enzo Amore) Sets Sights on the Tokyo Dome

Real1 Tokyo Dome

In preparation for his NJPW debut at All-Star Junior Festival USA, Real1 has set his aspirations high: he wants to appear at the Tokyo Dome.

At All-Star Junior Festival USA, the artist formerly known as Enzo Amore is due to compete in a six-man tag match. In the bout, he will team with Jack Cartwheel and Starboy Charlie, to compete against the trio of Ryusuke Taguchi, Rich Swann and The DKC.

Real1 recently spoke about the event on Busted Open, taking a moment to thank Rocky Romero and Hiromu Takahashi especially.

“So I just want to thank Rocky Romero, thank Hiromu Takahashi, thank you for putting this event on respecting and knowing that I’m the greatest Cruiserweight Champion. That’s including every Luchador.”

“If I get an opportunity from Rocky Romero to go out there and do what I do, I guarantee you I end up over in Japan in the Tokyo Dome in front of a hundred-fucking-thousand people and taking everything that I deserve that should be fucking mine.”

It’s a bold claim from the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, but stranger things have happened in wrestling.

When Did Real1 Leave WWE?

Real1 was released from WWE on January 23rd, 2018. During his time in WWE, under the moniker Enzo Amore, he had a fair amount of success.

After a successful run in NXT, Enzo Amore and tag partner Big Cass (now known as Big Bill in AEW), were called up to the main roster. Though they never won gold together, Enzo did lift the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at No Mercy 2017.

Earlier this year, Real1 parted ways with MLW, citing “creative differences.”
