Dragon Lee Moved To Main Roster After Impressive Performances

Dragon Lee

Dragon Lee is now part of the main roster.

The Mexican star has been a hit with WWE crowds since making his televised in-ring debut with NXT in April. Lee had actually signed with WWE back in December 2022, but his debut was delayed by visa issues.

Once on NXT television, Lee starred alongside many of the biggest talents on the brand, later getting involved in a rivalry with Dominik Mysterio for the North American Title. This led to a match between the pair for the gold on Monday Night Raw — Lee’s debut on the main roster.

Although Lee lost the match the contest was praised heavily by fans online and got a big reaction in the arena.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Lee impressed so much in that match against Mysterio that he’s now been moved to the main roster permanently.

“Dragon Lee did so well with Dominik that it looks like he’s now on the main roster. The nature of the deal he signed did indicate he’d be on the main roster after one year in NXT to begin with, but the match with Dominik may have sped up his timetable.”

The former AAA star is set to compete against Austin Theory on the October 6th episode of SmackDown.

Dragon Lee Turned Down AEW Move

After Dragon Lee signed with WWE, it was reported he’d also been offered a deal by AEW. However, he turned the offer down in favour of signing with WWE for more money, with the belief that he’d be a main roster star in 2024.
