Bully Ray Believes Samoa Joe Is “Credible Challenger” For MJF

Bully Ray

Bully Ray has heaped praised on Samoa Joe, labelling him as a ‘credible challenger’ for MJF‘s AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

Samoa Joe defeated Penta El Zero Miedo on the latest episode of AEW Collision to advance to the final of the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament.

The former AEW TNT Champion will now face Roderick Strong for the opportunity to face MJF for World Heavyweight gold after he overcame Darby Allin in the other semi-final after Allin was subject to a brutal pre-match beat down by Luchasaurus and Christian Cage.

The pair will now meet on the 13th September edition of AEW Dynamite to earn the position as number 1 contender to the crown MJF has held since overcoming Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear in November 2022.

Speaking on a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray was full of praise for Joe and believes he should be the man to win the upcoming tournament final:

“When Joe came out there, I felt the whole mood change. I saw a credible challenger to MJF’s World Heavyweight Championship.

Not that Adam Cole wasn’t credible or not that anybody else hasn’t been credible, but there’s just something different about Joe.

It’s just this feeling that Joe can take you out at any given moment. Joe being bigger than Max. Joe being a heavyweight that can really bring it to Max.

A credible challenger who is involved in the story is Roderick Strong, but if you’re asking me to choose between Joe and MJF, and Strong and MJF, it’s Samoa Joe all day long.”
