Adam Page Comments On CM Punk’s Botch

Adam Page Hits CM Punk

Former AEW World Champion Adam Page has discussed CM Punk’s attempts at trying to use his trademark Buckshot Lariat and failing to pull it off.

In the main event of Double Or Nothing, CM Punk and Hangman Adam Page met one-on-one for the very first time with Page’s AEW World Championship on the line. In Page’s seventh title defence he was finally unseated as champion with Punk picking up the victory.

During the match, however, CM Punk seemed to struggle with one move in particular. Punk attempted to hit Page’s Buckshot Lariat twice and both times failed to maintain his balance after flipping over the ropes into the ring.

Speaking to Wrestling Inc. Adam Page has discussed Punk’s attempts at his finishing move and says it made him feel better about himself:

“It made me feel better about myself that I can do it, I know that. Grabbing the ropes and flipping over like that and landing on your feet and hitting the guy in the face is hard on any day at any time, much less, you know, 20 minutes into a match, and I think that made me have a little more appreciation and pride in the ability to do it.”

“It doesn’t surprise me that he couldn’t do it, and that’s not a knock on him because it’s a tough-ass thing to do, and it’s something I’ve done for a long time. I’ve had time to sharpen it, he hasn’t. So, I don’t know that I have the best Go To Sleep in the world either, certainly not as good as his because he beat my ass with it.”

Adam Page attempted to become IWGP World Heavyweight Champion at Forbidden Door but New Japan star Jay White was able to escape from that event with his title intact.

CM Punk is currently out of action after suffering a foot injury. Jon Moxley won the Interim AEW World Title at Forbidden Door by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi.
