Kenny Omega Addresses Speculation He Could Join WWE

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has refused to rule out a move to WWE as rumours about his future continue to gather pace.

Omega’s future with AEW became the subject of much speculation when it was reported that WWE was looking to land a major free agent. Some believed that free agent to be the former AEW World Champion given that his most recent contract was set to expire in January.

However, it has since been noted that time has been added to his deal as a result of the nine months he missed through injury. Although it remains unclear exactly how much time was added on.

To add further intrigue to the situation, it has been said that Omega is potentially open-minded regarding a switch. Meanwhile, WWE is expected to “go hard” to sign a number of top AEW stars as their contracts expire.

Appearing on CBC’s Front Runner, Omega was asked point blank if he is interested in signing with WWE. Despite the direct question, the former AEW World Champion made sure to give little away.

“I think at this point anything new appeals to me and challenges also always, always appeal to me. At one point it was one of those, ‘if you say I can’t do it, I really want to do it’. Now it’s not that, I wouldn’t say I’m older and wiser it’s more like, I’m older and I care less about that it’s more about what kinds of people can I reach. What kind of positive thing can I contribute? And, what do I even feel best suited for?

When host Jayme Poisson suggested that “maybe” is the answer, Omega appeared to agree.

“Right. I mean, again it’s all place and time like we haven’t even reached that time yet.”

Omega continued to play his cards close to his chest, adding that he will go where his heart takes him.

“I always kind of try to find my own way or at least try to lean in the direction of where my heart is pulling me, and right now, I’m taking one step at a time, and with this Winnipeg show it feels like ‘yeah this feels right’ and what’s next? I don’t know because nothing has spoken to me, nothing has told me this is what you need to do. The spidey sense hasn’t been triggered yet.”

Kenny Omega Will Be Back In Action On Dynamite

Kenny Omega is sure to receive a hero’s welcome when he appears on the March 15th edition of Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg. On the show, Omega will team with the Young Bucks to take on the Jericho Appreciation Society and Trios Champions the House of Black. The Elite lost the World Trios Titles to the House of Black at Revolution on March 5th.
