The Street Profits have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with in WWE, having become Triple Crown Tag Team Champions after holding the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Titles. They also won two Slammys in 2020 for both Breakout Star of the Year and Tag Team of the Year.
Though they haven’t held gold in quite some time, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long sees a bright future for Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, and during a recent interview with WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, he named the team as one he’d like to manage in the future as both their mic skills and in-ring work is superb.
“Well, if I were to manage somebody, I think it would probably be a tag team. It would probably be the Street Profits. I like them, I watch them. You know they are good, they are good in the ring. Their mic skills are good. You know they are a couple of nice guys. I had a chance to meet them. So Street Profits are the guys I’d like to be with.”
The Street Profits Didn’t Team Up At WWE Elimination Chamber
While The Street Profits are known for tearing up the tag team division, Montez Ford took on a singles role when he competed inside the Elimination Chamber on February 18th.
Ahead of the January 30th episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Austin Theory would be defending his United States Championship inside the Chamber, and that a number of qualifying matches would be held to determine his challengers. On the February 6th episode, Ford defeated Elias to secure his spot. Angelo Dawkins, however, wasn’t as successful as he was defeated by Damian Priest earlier that night.
Montez Ford was extremely impressive in his Elimination Chamber performance, even climbing to the top of the structure and launching himself onto his competitors at one point in the match. His eventual elimination came as he appeared to be injured, and the door being open while referees assisted him allowed the opportunity for Logan Paul to enter the cage and cost Seth Rollins the match, allowing Austin Theory to retain.
