Sami Zayn Reportedly Re-Signs With WWE

Sami Zayn & Brock Lesnar

According to a new report Sami Zayn has following Kevin Owens in signing a new to remain with WWE.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have somehow found themselves intertwined for much of their careers both in and out of the ring. So it seems only fitting that after it was confirmed that Owens had put pen to paper on a new WWE contract, that Zayn has now reportedly done the same.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that there has been talk that Zayn has signed a new deal, although there has been no official confirmation from WWE.

”In conjunction with being featured more heavily on television, Kevin Owens (Kevin Steen, 37), signed a multi-year deal with WWE. There has also been locker room talk that Sami Zayn (Rami Sebei, also 37) did as well, but WWE sources have not confirmed Zayn having signed to us yet,”

Sami Zayn signed with WWE in 2013 after successful stints with Pro Wresting Guerrilla and Ring Of Honor. Zayn went on to win the NXT Championship before moving up to the main roster in May 2015, famously answering John Cena’s open challenge in Montreal. In the years that followed Zayn has won the Intercontinental Championship twice.

In recent weeks Sami Zayn has become wrapped up in a rivalry with Brock Lesnar. More often that not, their interactions have led to Zayn being left laying as Lesnar prepares for his huge Universal Title rematch with Roman Reigns at Day 1.

After weeks of speculation around his future, Kevin Owens signed a new three-year deal with WWE on December 15th. The contract is said to be worth up to $3 million per-year.

Speaking after the news broke, Owens said that he would be with WWE for “several years” adding that it was a “pretty easy” decision to re-sign with the company.
