Bianca Belair Is The New Raw Women’s Champion

Bianca Belair celebrates winning RAW Women's Title

At WrestleMania 38 Bianca Belair finally got her revenge on Becky Lynch, pinning her to win the Raw Women’s Championship for the first time.

The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair which began back at SummerSlam has gained another incredible chapter.

Back in August, Lynch returned to a WWE ring for the first time in more than a year as a last-minute stand in for Sasha Banks who wasn’t able to compete in her match with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. As the shock of Lynch’s arrival subsided, the Irish woman defeated Belair in a matter of seconds to win the SmackDown women’s crown.

Over the next few months, the two women continued to go to war over the gold. Not even being drafted to Raw could halt the rivalry, with the pair continuing to trade barbs. However, despite falling down the pecking order, Belair fought her way back, earning her WrestleMania match with victory at Elimination Chamber.

At WrestleMania, Big Time Becks arrived as only she could, complete with luxury car and spectacular outfit. But not to be outdone, Belair was played to the ring by a marching band.

Once the bell rang there was almost a repeat of SummerSlam as Lynch hit the Man Handle Slam just seconds into the match, but this time the challenger kicked out.

The pace was fast and furious from the outset, as both women tried to gain control of the contest. Lynch missed a moonsault before the pair traded near-falls once more. After this flurry, Lynch was able to put a series of suplexes together, having used Belair’s hair to gain the advantage.

However, Belair fought back, hitting a vertical suplex on the outside, before earning a couple of near-falls back in the ring. Despite this, the challenger continued to be frustrated as a 450 Splash from the top rope failed to earn the win.

This time it was Lynch’s time to fight back, battling her way back into contention, hitting a Man Handle Slam on the ring steps, which caused Belair to narrowly avoid being counted out. But on this night Bianca Belair was not to be denied.

Once back in the ring, she revered Lynch once more, flipping out of the corner to hit the KOD in the middle of the ring to earn a heart-fought win.
