WWE Star Opens Up On Recent Death Threats From “Fans”

Brawling Brutes on WWE SmackDown

On the March 11th, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown, Big E suffered a broken neck in a match between the New Day and the Brawling Brutes.

During the bout, Big E was given an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex by Ridge Holland at ringside, but instead of landing flat on his back, the star landed higher up on his neck. Thankfully, the former World Champion didn’t require surgery or damage his spinal cord.

In the weeks after the match, Big E revealed that Holland had visited him in the hospital and apologised for the accident.

Despite this, Holland shared on social media that he has been receiving death threats as a result of the incident even a year later.

“Death threats. Threats to my family. Lobbying for me to lose my job. Being labeled as racist. Great stuff keep ‘em coming.”

Big E Admits WWE Career Is Still In Doubt

The New Day star has been back in the news in recent days after giving an interview addressing his future. Big E reiterated that he’s got some scans coming up that will determine whether or not he will be able to wrestle again. Although the scans could have life-changing consequences, the former WWE Champion said that he’s not anxious, and has already come to peace with the idea that his in-ring career could be over.

“Nah, no anxiety at all. Everything isn’t permanent. If it comes to an end, cool. If it doesn’t, cool. What will be, will be. I’m good with whatever.”

The star added that no matter what happens he won’t be rushing to make any judgements.
