Jim Cornette Claims Women Have “No Business” Competing In Ladder Matches

Jim Cornette

Jim Cornette has controversially claimed that women shouldn’t be competing in Ladder Matches such as those at Money In The Bank.

The former manager was giving his thoughts on WWE’s recent Money In The Back event in London and held nothing back while discussing the women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

In the match, Zelina Vega hit a Code Red on Zoey Stark from the top of a ladder onto a ladder bridge below, while Iyo Sky and others pitched in with a number of high-risk spots.

Speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette began by claiming that fans have trouble buying into injury angles because of the spot involving Stark and Vega before suggesting that women shouldn’t compete in these kinds of matches at all.

“No wonder that nobody believes injury angles anymore,” Cornette said. “One spot was a powerbomb off a ladder onto another ladder. If a 120-pound girl takes that and bounces up and lives to fight another day, then how can it hurt Powerhouse Hobbs? So, then, what do you gotta do to Powerhouse Hobbs. Let’s get a Volkswagen, but not just a bug, we need a bus, and run him down.”

“What I’m saying is, somebody’s gonna get hurt and besides that for business reasons, girls have no business doing these f****** matches,” Cornette said.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of bump a miscellaneous girl or guy takes if they don’t give a sh*t about you, specifically. Then, it’s equally as detrimental to business, when as I said, if these girls can do all this sh*t with these ladders, the same ladders that the guys Goddamn get hit with or land on or whatever the f***, and they get up and finish the f****** match, then what do you have to do to hurt the f****** guys that are twice their size.”

Jim Cornette Critical Of Logan Paul And Ricochet

Jim Cornette didn’t reserve his ire for only the women’s match, also taking Logan Paul and Ricochet to task for their involvement in the men’s match. Cornette questioned the wisdom of using a spot such as Ricochet hitting a Spanish Fly on Paul through two tables given the massive risks involved.
