Former WWE Superstar Paul Burchill Making In-Ring Return

Paul Burchill and William Regal stare down in a WWE ring

Former WWE Superstar Paul Burchill is set to make his long-awaited return to the ring.

The former four-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Heavyweight Champion has not stepped foot into the squared circle since October 2018 and is set to dust off the boots to battle another former WWE Superstar in Gangrel at World Classic Professional Big Time Wrestling’s The Great Fall Bash 2: Season of The Hitman.

In a promo on the Developmentally Speaking YouTube channel released ahead of the September 30th bout in Chillicothe,OH, Burchill was in confident mood:

“Gangrel, they reached out to me and asked me to send some kind of a message promoting our match on the 30th of September in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Raise the colors, raise the flag, but I’ve heard what you’ve been saying. You’ve been making all kinds of threats. You’re talking about, ‘There’s gonna be blood.’ Son, you’ve got a real short memory.

It’s been a while since you and me got in the ring together. That was a long time ago, back in England. Actually, while I’ve got England in my mind, I’ll do a little word association just to illustrate the depth between you and me.

Gangrel, when it comes to England, you’re Elton John. Me? I’m Jack the Ripper. 30th of September, Shoemaker Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, The Vampire Warrior vs. The Ripper. The only blood is going to be your blood on my hands, and there’s two things you can do about it: nothing and like it.”

When Did Paul Burchill Work For WWE?

Burchill made his debut for WWE in August 2005, interfering in a bout between William Regal and Scotty 2 Hotty on Velocity.

The Guildford-born Superstar would team with fellow Brit Regal for several months before a feud between the two would develop after Burchill’s persona changed to that of a pirate, notably similar to a character played in Johnny Depp in global smash hit movie series ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean‘.

Burchill and on-screen sister Katie Lea Burchill would operate on the ECW brand until it’s closure in February 2010, with the English grappler released by WWE shortly afterwards.
