Konnan Blasts AEW For Underutilising El Hijo Del Vikingo

Impact Wrestling’s Konnan has taken aim at AEW for not fully utilising El Hijo Del Vikingo.

In a recent interview on K100 with Konnan & Disco Inferno, Konnan expressed his disappointment with AEW’s handling of Vikingo. Despite Vikingo’s limited English-speaking skills, he believes that this should not hinder his push in the company. He suggests that Vikingo could have a manager speak on his behalf.

Who gives a sh*t,” making it clear that he doesn’t see it as a reason that he should be held back in the company, especially due to his in-ring capabilities. He’s not there to debate. He can have a f***ing manager that can talk for him.

Konnan emphasised Vikingo’s status as one of the most phenomenal high flyers in the industry today and argued that his in-ring capabilities should speak for themselves. To truly captivate fans, he proposed placing Vikingo in a compelling storyline.

He’s the most incredible high flyer out there today. His work speaks for itself. You just put him in a f***ing good storyline.

Currently, AEW has only given Vikingo sporadic appearances without providing him with a consistent storyline to connect with fans. However, it’s worth noting that Vikingo has participated in notable matches, including a singles bout against Kenny Omega and a recent ROH World Tag Team Championship match on AEW Dynamite episode 200.

Despite these opportunities, Konnan believes that AEW can do more to showcase Vikingo’s incredible talent and elevate his status in the company.

Has Konnan Said Anything Else About AEW?

On the same episode of the K100 podcast, Konnan branded The Young Bucks as “unmotivated and stale.” Stating that while their in-ring work is still good, their backstage segments and promos are lacking.
