Bray Wyatt has given the biggest tease yet of his return to the wrestling world following his release from his WWE contract earlier this year.
The news that Bray Wyatt had been released by WWE was first confirmed by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp who noted that Wyatt was gone from the company after WWE posted a statement on Twitter. That first tweet was quickly deleted, however, a new statement was issued shortly after confirming that WWE had come to terms on the releases of the former Universal Champion on the 31st of July.
It has since been reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that Wyatt was told his release was due to budget cuts. In addition, the former WWE Champion had seemingly been preparing to return to WWE television in August.
Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men podcast reported as recently as the 15th of October that there was more to Wyatt’s release than just budget concerns:
“Bray was being difficult. I’m going to fill in a lot and I’m not going to quote here. I have the quote but I don’t want to quote it. He was a little difficult, he had some performance issues in the ring, and he had some weight issues.”
But now Bray Wyatt is looking to put the past behind him as he took to social media to give an update on how long before his non-compete with WWE expires:

Reports had suggested that Bray Wyatt could be headed to AEW but the company’s CEO Tony Khan has recently poured cold water on those claims saying that no plans have been discussed:
“Certainly, that name [Bray Wyatt] would never be (used),”
“He’s a great wrestler and I have to be honest, we haven’t really talked at all. I’ve known him in personal life and have gotten to spend a little bit of time with him, but as far as that, we haven’t talked. I saw lots of rumours, but that isn’t something anyone has really talked about, but you never know.”
