Dolph Ziggler Released By WWE

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has been released by WWE.

The former World Champion has become the latest Superstar to be released following WWE’s merger with UFC. The sports entertainment giant began cutting costs in recent days with more than 100 employees losing their jobs.

There was also word that talent cuts could be on the way, and unfortunately, those reports have proven to be accurate.

After Mustafa Ali, Aliyah, and Emma announced they were leaving the company, it’s been reported that Rick Boogs, Elias, Top Dolla, Shelton Benjamin, and Madcap Moss have also been let go.

It’s now been reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that Dolph Ziggler has also been released.

Ziggler was one of the longest-tenured members of the full-time roster, with many expecting him to end his career with the company.

When Did Dolph Ziggler Join WWE?

Dolph Ziggler had something of a stop-start beginning to his WWE career, which began all the way back in 2004. A year after joining the company the star arrived on the main roster as Chavo Guerrero’s right-hand man, before becoming part of the Spirit Squad. However, come 2007, the would-be World Champion was moved back into WWE’s developmental system.

In September 2008, the rebranded Dolph Ziggler arrived on Raw, but shortly after his debut, he was suspended for a wellness program violation.

Speaking in April 2023, Dolph Ziggler recalled being moved back to the main roster and his match with Batista.

Despite Ziggler feeling uncertain about his main roster prospects he went on to become a Money In The Bank winner, World Champion, multiple-time United States, Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion, as well as NXT Champion in 2022.
