‘I Probably Should Have Quit At The 20-Year Mark’ – Hulk Hogan Opens Up On Injuries

Hulk Hogan

Time and tenure has taken it’s toll on Hulk Hogan, but what kept him going?

The WWE Hall Of Famer recently “ran wild” in a new interview with “Men’s Health” and Hogan opened up about all the injuries (and surgeries) he’s accumulated over his career. He even took a moment to admit that maybe he should have hung up the wrestling boots before he had his infamous run with “Hollywood.”

“Wrestling has taken its toll. I wrestled almost 40 years, off and on, and I probably should have quit at the 20-year mark, but with Hulkamania running wild all those years and then when I turned into a bad guy and became Hollywood Hulk Hogan, it was like jumping on another lightning bolt and I had no idea that we were going to reinvent the wrestling business. So, I got hooked, I got sucked in, and I rode that thing until it dropped. Wrestling has been really tough on my body with multiple surgeries and injuries. Nobody gave me the memo that this stuff was fake.”

Hulk Hogan Always Says ‘Never Say Never,’ Brother

Hogan hasn’t been an active participant in the ring in over a decade, but he still keeps that intrigue of him returning in the fans’ minds. Before the summer kicked off, Hogan had an interview with “MMA Hour” and made mention that Shane McMahon approached him to do a match at WrestleMania 39, but the current state of his body would rule such an option out. Another veteran of the ring, Dutch Mantell, was heavily critical of the possibilty of seeing Hogan back wrestling.
