Drew McIntyre Grants Heartwarming First Make-A-Wish Before WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre Make A Wish

WWE celebrated World Wish Day and their partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation with Drew McIntyre granting his first-ever wish before SmackDown.

Before SmackDown in Albany, New York, two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre had the privilege of granting his first-ever Make-A-Wish when he met 16-year-old Giovanna. WWE introduced Giovanna during the show as they helped the Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrate World Wish Day.

As well as being McIntyre’s first wish, it was the first in-person wish granted by a full-time WWE Superstar since 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.

WWE touts their partnership with the charity on their community website, saying:

“WWE is a dedicated partner of Make-A-Wish that goes above and beyond to contribute generous financial support and other resources to create unforgettable, life-changing wish experiences for seriously ill children. For more than 30 years, WWE has worked with Make-A-Wish to grant the wishes of critically ill children who wish to attend events like WrestleMania or meet their favorite WWE Superstar. A wish-come-true empowers and has a lasting impact on anyone who plays a part.”

WWE Superstars have granted over 6,000 wishes over the past three decades with John Cena the individual who has granted the most wishes in history with over 650.

Drew McIntyre had an interesting night on SmackDown as he defeated Sami Zayn in a Steel Cage match and has been added to a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash where he will team with RK-Bro to face The Bloodline.
