A former WWE Superstar could be in line for a shock appearance on NXT 2.0 almost 20 years after leaving the company.

Since Triple H took creative control of WWE, the returns of former Superstars have been the order of the day. While the likes of Karrion Kross, Johnny Gargano and Dakota Kai have returned to the company as full-time performers, legends such as Trish Stratus and Kurt Angle have also featured in guest spots.

It has also been reported that former Universal Champion Braun Strowman will be returning to WWE as soon as September 5th, with sources confirming he’s expected to be in Kansas City for Monday Night Raw.

Furthermore, reports have now emerged concerning a much more left-field appearance that could be in the works. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has noted that Bull Buchanan is set to be at the WWE Performance Center all of next week. Should Buchanan appear on television, it will be his first WWE appearance since 2003.

However, the report adds that Buchanan could simply being used as a guest coach in much the same way as Dave Taylor and Santana Garrett. Buchanan’s son currently competes in NXT under the name Brooks Jensen.

Bull Buchanan began his career in the mid-1990’s before signing with WWE in 1997. He went on to appear in the Truth Commission and Right To Censor, while also teaming with the Big Boss Man. His final run with the company saw him appear as a young John Cena’s bodyguard under the name B-2, pronounced B-Squared.

After being released in 2003, Buchanan enjoyed spells with All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah. He announced his retirement in 2014 before returning to the ring briefly in 2019 to team with his son.
