WWE Quietly Released Returning Star After They Refused To Work With Vince McMahon

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon’s return to power has led to one star leaving WWE before he had made his in-ring comeback.

It was reported in March that Eric Young had re-signed with the company as far back as November when his IMPACT Wrestling contract ended. However, the former SAnitY leader didn’t make any appearances since then.

In May, Young posted a cryptic tweet teasing that a “big change” was coming soon.

“Time to work!!!! When the world hands you lemons…… we’ll you know the rest! See you all again real soon! BIG CHANGE COMING!!!”

Now, it turns out that change was that he was leaving the company once again. According to Fightful Select, Young asked for and was granted his release back in April, with his no-compete clause ending last week.

Young reportedly made the decision in the wake of WWE’s sale to Endeavor, citing “moral, creative, and personal” reasons for not wanting to work with McMahon, who will once again play a key role in the company.

Eric Young’s WWE departure confirmed

The last time Young was seen in IMPACT Wrestling, he was being “murdered” by Deaner, who took over the Violent By Design stable.

However, at Slammiversary, he returned from the dead to reunite with his old Team Canada stablemate Scott D’Amore to take on Deaner and Bully Ray.

The chaotic match, which featured Darren McCarty as a Special Enforcer, came to a head when D’Amore and McCarty rammed Bully Ray through a table.

D’Amore then hit a Canadian Destroyer on Deaner and Young finished things with an Elbow Drop from the top rope on his killer for the pinfall victory.
