Chris Jericho is the NEW Ring Of Honor World Champion.
During the 9/21 episode of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Chris Jericho defeated Claudio Castagnoli in the evening’s opening contest to become the new ROH World Champion.
Jericho secured his eighth professional wrestling world title after attempting to hit Castagnoli with a baseball bat, but to no avail. Castagnoli blocked Jericho’s attack, however Jericho tossed Castagnoli into the corner that referee, Aubrey Edwards was tossing the bat away into and kicked Claudio below the belt with a low blow before drilling the now-former champion with his patented ‘Judas Effect’ for the 1-2-3.

Castagnoli defeated Jonathan Gresham to become ROH World Champion at Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, this past July. Castagnoli’s two-plus month reign was his first world title of his pro wrestling career.
Prior to tonight’s special episode of AEW Dynamite, company President, Tony Khan held their second talent meeting in the past few weeks, something that according to reports, went very well just hours before one of their biggest shows of 2022.
