Kenny Omega Responds To Andrade’s TripleMania Challenge

Kenny Omega has responded to former WWE star Andrade’s challenge to face him one-on-one for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania.

Appearing in a pre-recorded video during AAA’s Rey de Reyes 2021, the former NXT Champion announced he was coming to AAA with two goals in mind: To face Psycho Clown, a top star of the promotion, and to challenge for Kenny Omega’s AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania XXIX! Provided Omega doesn’t defend the belt between now and then, this will mark his fifth defence of the title since winning it in October 2019.

Should the match take place it is unlikely to be Andrade’s first match since his WWE departure, however. The 31-year-old will headline Federación Wrestling’s inaugural pay-per-view on June 19th in an 8-man tag team match. There, he will face PJ Black, Matt Taven, and two mystery opponents alongside Ring of Honor World Champion RUSH, Bestia del Ring, and a mystery partner of their own.

AEW and IMPACT World Champion Kenny Omega took to social media to give Andrade an answer. Although it may not have been the one ‘El Idolo’ was looking for.

Omega Tweeted:

“I’m a busy guy, give me some time to think about it.”

Being a triple champion may prove hard work for Omega. Competitors from the three promotions he holds titles for will surely be looking to topple the ‘belt collector.’

Omega will appear at IMPACT Wrestling’s Under Siege event on the 15th of May. He will team up with the Good Brothers to face the team of Eddie Edwards and FinJuice. Omega’s first number one contender for the IMPACT Title will also be decided at that event in a six-way match. So far three competitors have been announced for that bout, those being Matt Cardona, Sami Callihan, and Chris Bey.

Before that Omega will be in action on AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts on May 5th. He will team with long-time friend MT Nakazawa to take on Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston.
